The Charles Baur estate is located in Eguisheim, in the heart of Alsace, three miles away from Colmar. It has been in the Baur family since the early 18th century. In 1930, Albert Baur bought the farmhouse that currently houses the estate's facilities. In 1950, his son Charles Baur started bottling and marketing the wine and gradually extended the estate, acquiring excellent vineyards. He later transmitted his know-how to his son, Armand, who took over the business in 1980. And in 2009, Arnaud Baur, the son of Armand and Brigitte Baur, joined the family business. Today, the Charles Baur Estate covers over 39 acres of vines on the finest slopes of Eguisheim and its surroundings. In order to produce top-quality wines, only estate-grown fruit are used, the yields are kept moderate, and hand-harvesting and hand-sorting methods are used. Baur's goal is to produce Alsace wines that are well-balanced, elegant, and brings out the particular qualities of each terroir and vintage. The Pinot Blanc 2011 is a medium-dry, rich, rounded, and elegant wine with floral scents and white fruit aromas.
